Posture Alignment: Change the Way You Move

Use it or lose it!

"A body at rest tends to stay at rest. A body in motion tends to stay in motion" Newton's 1st Law of Motion

Do you have  text neck?

Forward heads and rounded shoulders are the most common postural fault. Myoskeletal pain syndromes develop from tension, trauma and poor body mechanics.

Do you have a swayback?

Swayback posture typically develops from prolonged sitting and sleeping with knees towards your chest. This can cause low back, hip and leg pain. We need to "lengthen then strengthen".

Are you tired of putting your pocket book behind your lower back to get comfortable when sitting in a restaurant?

We will teach you how to properly sit, stand and walk with our out of the box techniques inspired by the Gokhale Method.

Why is posture important?

Posture is important for effective relief of body and muscle aches. Many people don't know that strenghtening posture can improve sports performance and even help you age well.

Is your posture hurting your joints?

Try these quick tests to see...

  • Do your ankle roll inward?  If so, your weight is not evenly distributed

  • Stand on one foot?  Does the opposite hip drop?  If so, you have weakness in the hip your standing on.

  • Turn to the side.  Are your ears over your shoulders and hips?  If not, your posture is not aligned, whick can stress your shoulders and back.

Postural alignment therapy uses the muscles of our body through a series of individually designed techniques; repositioning, strengthening, stretching or functional exercises to treat musculoskeletal dysfunction.

Each exercise is specific to your posture deviations. The exercises are designed to facilitate normal muscle function and interaction. Muscles that are balanced work properly and provide the body with the ability to move more efficiently. (Some of the exercises may be similar to yoga or Pilates)

Problems from chronic muscle and joint aches and pains from the feet to the neck may result in premature joint breakdown

(i.e. osteoarthritis).

In order for a car to go forward properly, all of its tires need to be aligned in the same direction. In a similar manner, for your muscles to function properly, all of their fibers need to be aligned in the same direction.
